Daily Jewellery Day 18 to 25

Apologies for posting this later than I meant to: technology problems. I thought technology was supposed to make things simpler! Sometimes I think that maybe the problem is with me…but then I realise that no, it’s definitely technology’s fault. But enough ranting. Let’s get to the interesting stuff. Advertisements

Day 11 to 17

Oops…I seem to be a little behind in my updates for my Year of Jewellery. But late is better than never I suppose, so here is┬álast week’s Daily Jewellery: I’ll update you with pictures of this week’s jewellery on Friday or Monday (I haven’t decided yet).

A Side Note

For those of you forlornly wondering where my daily posts have gone, I thought I’d let you know that I’ve decided on a change: instead of posting my daily jewellery daily, I’m going to be posting it only once or twice a week. That gives those who receive an email every time I post an…

Day 8…and 9, and 10

I’ve been away from the workshop, the house, and the internet for 3 days. My jewellery contribution for Thursday is therefore unexceptional. It’s a ring! Made of wax. And I can’t help thinking it looked better on the candle… As for Friday and Saturday, well…I might quickly try fashion something together in a moment.

And on the 7th day…

…I didn’t rest. I made this thing: It’s a friend for yesterday’s cog ring!

The 6th Day

I’ve finally learnt that planning what I’m going to make before I start making it makes things a whole lot easier. Doing that has meant that I was able to create something a little more complex today, namely this copper ring with a rotatable cog. The tiny person on it is there because he was…

The 5th Day

Turns out there was another sheep hiding in the ‘Sheep and Misc’ box who didn’t get to be part of the bracelet yesterday. Poor sheep. But he got the opportunity to menace some tiny people on a necklace today.

Day…wait for iiiit…4

I bought some sheep while at university and the poor things have been stuck in my workshop, with only bits of scrap copper to graze on, ever since. They’ve longed to be incorporated in some jewellery for as long as they can remember and today their dream has come true. Here is my latest jewellery…

Day 3 (these titles are getting a little predictable)

It’s a little late, but here is day 3’s jewel: I returned to the bubbles of day 1 to create this ring made from silver and touchable bubbles (I admit that I didn’t make the silver part today, but it still counts). A beautiful and transient ring, this is not one that you can wear…

Day 2

Clocks. They’re so useful, beautiful, and annoying (or at least when they’re ticking and you’re trying sleep). Since I’m planning to start making use of more moving parts in my jewellery, I’ve been playing with some bits of clocks. Today’s jewellery of the day is this clock-hand creation.

Day 1

Well, the first day of the year is almost over and here’s my first item of jewellery. It’s made from wool and bubbles. I can honestly say that this is the best jewellery piece I’ve made this year. Maybe tomorrow’s will be even better.

A New New Year’s Resolution

I’m not one to make new year’s resolutions, (because I’m just so wonderful already) but this one is more of a new year’s challenge, and I declare it now to thee (so you can keep me accountable): Every day this year I shall make at least one piece of jewellery. Now of course I know…
